BORSCH
Charitable initiative
of Alex Lissitsa
I, Alex Lissitsa, was born on April 23, 1974, in the Chernihiv region, one of the most affected by the russian aggression. In April each year, my compatriots in the Chernihiv region, as well as more than 6 million Ukrainians, usually prepared the land for planting potatoes and other vegetables.

However, this year for many Ukrainians, spring begins not with digging gardens and cleaning last year's tops, but with digging graves and removing the remains of Russian bombs and missiles.

Recent events have changed us all, so I want to start my new year of life this spring with some help. Together with friends, we have launched the «BORSCH» charity initiative. It is designed to help Ukrainians survive the horrific hostilities and contribute to Ukraine's food security during the war.
Why BORSCH?
In Ukraine, up to 1 hectare of land for gardens is cultivated by about 3.5 million households, which is up to 3 million hectares in total. Most of the ingredients for our national dish - borsch, we grow in our own gardens. This applies mainly to vegetables of the so-called "borsch set" - cabbage, carrots, onions, beets and potatoes.

The vegetable seed crops in the regions affected by the russian aggression, particularly in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Mykolayiv regions, will enable many Ukrainians to provide themselves with the necessary food or receive additional income for the family.
Aim
By April 23, 2022, we aim to raise funds in the amount of 1 million euros and purchase seeds of borsch vegetables (cabbage, carrots, onions, beetroot) for free distribution in Ukraine in the war-affected areas.
How can you help?
  1. Transferring funds to a special account of the charity initiative «BORSCH».
  2. Buy a batch of seeds abroad and deliver them to the border with Ukraine
  3. Seed companies in Ukraine can also help.
  4. Greenhouses with seedlings can offer their services and assistance with supplies.
